Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” Campaign Launched in Haripur, Awareness Rally Held Against Drug Abuse

Haripur (Hum Gawah) he District Administration Haripur and District Youth Affairs Haripur, in collaboration with Gawah Advertisement, have launched a comprehensive awareness campaign against the growing use of drugs under the Youth Policy 2026. In this regard, a special awareness rally was organized in Haripur district, starting from the District Secretariat and concluding at the Chamber of Commerce.

People from various walks of life, youth, social workers, and district officials actively participated in the rally. Participants carried banners and placards displaying messages aimed at raising awareness against drug abuse and protecting the younger generation. During the rally, slogans were also raised in favor of eliminating drugs and promoting a healthy society.

The rally was attended by Assistant Commissioner Noor Nawaz Khan, District Youth Officer Nazia Shaheen, Shahid Akhtar Awan, HRA Inspector Saeed Khan, along with a large number of young participants.

Addressing the participants, Assistant Commissioner Noor Nawaz Khan said that drugs are a serious social evil that is silently destroying the younger generation. He stated that drug addiction not only affects an individual but also has devastating consequences for families and society as a whole. He emphasized that preventing drug abuse is not solely the responsibility of law enforcement agencies; parents, teachers, religious scholars, media, and social organizations must also play their role in this fight.

He further stated that the district administration is utilizing all available resources to protect youth from drugs and that strict action will continue against those involved in pushing young people toward addiction.

District Youth Officer Nazia Shaheen, while addressing the gathering, said that under Youth Policy 2026, several programs have been designed to engage youth in positive activities, promote mental and physical well-being, and prevent drug abuse. She added that awareness sessions, seminars, and workshops will soon be organized in schools, colleges, and universities across Haripur to educate students about the harmful effects and devastating consequences of drug use.

Participants expressed concern that the rising trend of drug abuse is an alarming threat to society and stressed the urgent need for collective efforts to eliminate it. They urged the government and district administration to take more effective measures against drug dealers and provide healthy recreational opportunities for young people.

At the conclusion of the event, the public was urged to spread the message of “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life,” guide young people within their homes and communities, and contribute towards building a drug-free Haripur.

This awareness campaign is being regarded as an important step toward raising awareness about drug abuse in Haripur and guiding the younger generation toward a brighter, safer, and more successful future.
