Mohib Mirza’s Journey All About the Famous Pakistan Actor

Mohib Mirza (born 18 August 1979) is a Pakistani actor, director, playwright, television host, and comedian. He is recognized for his contributions to the Pakistani film and television industry, earning nominations for various awards.

Mohib Mirza Career

Mohib Mirza started his career as a theatre actor in 1999. While pursuing a Bachelor’s in Commerce, he ran out of funds for the next semester. To raise money, he and his friends founded a theatre company called Dramaybaaz. They wrote and directed an Urdu play, One Way Ticket, which ran for seven days at PACC and received an overwhelming response. The play raised more than three times the needed amount.

Mirza made his television debut in Sahira Kazmi’s popular PTV drama serial Zebunnisa, which told the story of a girl who becomes a victim of domestic violence. Following this, Mirza acted in numerous television serials, telefilms, sitcoms, and TV commercials, establishing himself as a versatile actor.

In 2009, he gained international recognition with his film Insha Allah, winning the Best Supporting Actor award at the International Filmmaker Film Festival in Kent, England. He was the first Pakistani actor to be honored at this festival.

After a four-year break from TV serials, Mirza returned in 2018 with the drama Deedan. In 2022, he made his directorial debut with the action-comedy movie Ishrat Made in China.

Throughout his career, Mohib Mirza has shown his versatility and talent across various forms of entertainment, from theatre and television to film and directing. His dedication and passion for the arts have earned him both national and international acclaim, making him a prominent figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry.

Award for Best Supporting Actor

The Hum Award for Best Supporting Actor is given annually by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC) to honor an actor’s outstanding performance in a supporting role in television. The first Hum Awards took place in 2013, recognizing work from 2012. Mohib Mirza won the inaugural award for his role in Shehr-e-Zaat.

The award is commonly called the Hum for Best Supporting Actor. Nominees are determined by a single transferable vote within the actors and jury branch of HTNEC, and winners are chosen by a plurality vote from all eligible voting members of Hum. An actor can receive multiple nominations in the same category for different works.

Mirza married actress Aamina Sheikh, at Karachi. Their wedding was a three-day event taking place from 30 April to 2 May 2005. He met Sheikh on the sets of a show which he was hosting and Sheikh was directing. In an interview given to Jang, Mohib revealed that he had the hardest time convincing Aamina’s father and that each meeting with him involved “extensive grilling”. Aimed to rumors of their divorce, Mirza himself confirmed it in October 2019.

In 2021, Mirza married actress Sanam Saeed in a private ceremony. They announced their wedding in 2023.

His father Mohsin Mirza, who studied law, worked as a corporate employee, was an Urdu poet as well as painter, and who inspired Mohib to become an artist, passed away in 2022.

Aamina Sheikh and Mohib Mirza married in 2005 and welcomed their daughter Meissa Mirza in August 2015, who is their only child.
