PTI Denies Deal Amid Delays in Imran Khans £190 Million Case
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has denied any possibility of a “deal” amid ongoing negotiations with the government. This follows the repeated delays in the verdict of the £190 million case against PTI founder Imran Khan. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja clarified that while talks are taking place, the delays in the case are not linked to these discussions. He emphasized that Khan’s position remains clear: he will fight the legal battles according to the law and Constitution, and will prove his innocence in court.
Corruption, participation in crimes and dealings with criminal elements will not be tolerated
Raja also rejected any claims that the party was seeking relief or making deals, stating that the negotiations were focused on democracy, human rights, and the Constitution, not on the case itself. The verdict in the case, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case, was once again postponed by the accountability court, now scheduled for January 17. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had accused Khan and his associates of misappropriating £190 million sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency. Khan had earlier claimed the delays were an attempt to pressure him, but he did not attend court for the latest hearing.
