the Prime Minister, Army Chief, Chief Minister Punjab
Islamabad (City Reporter) Shahid Mahmood, a resident of Rawalpindi and Imam of Jamia Masjid Taqwa Allama Iqbal Colony Qasim Market, has demanded from the Prime Minister, Army Chief, Chief Minister Punjab, Federal Minister for Interior, IG Punjab and RP and Rawalpindi to take notice of the violation of the sanctity of his house, chador and four walls by the police and people dressed in civilian clothes and to provide justice by conducting a complete inquiry. Addressing an emergency press conference at the National Press Club, Islamabad, Shahid Mahmood further said that last Friday, he was outside the mosque after offering Friday prayers when he received a call from his son-in-law that the police had raided his house. On this, he along with his neighbor and retired police employee reached the house of his daughter, who is associated with the legal department and is a member of the Islamabad Bar Council. There, the police were holding his son Salman and son-in-law Hasnain and my friend Rafaqat and were beating him. On this, I immediately took out my mobile and started making a video. Meanwhile, a sub-inspector snatched my mobile phone from me and behaved very rudely. At the same time, I went to the other side of the street where the SHO of the Race Course police station was standing. I wanted to go and make a report about the situation, but he also told me very rudely, “Come to the police station, Maulvi.” The police took my son and son-in-law and me, Zulf, to the police station. There, police officers Zain Malik and Sikandar, along with the local informant Abdullah and others dressed in civilian clothes, brutally tortured them and kept them in solitary confinement for six hours. However, when the local people came to the police station, they were released at nine o’clock at night. Shahid Mahmood further said that his family is very honorable and there is never any criminal record against any member of the family. His family is educated and abides by the constitution and law, most of whom have served in high positions in the army and police, and respect for uniforms is in our blood. He further said that we have been working with the CPO. We went to them and applied to them, but the police are deliberately reluctant to get us medical so that the real incident can be hidden. The police are also refusing to register their case. A few black sheep dressed in police uniform have brought disrepute to the entire institution. Shahid Mahmood has demanded that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Army Chief General Asim Munir, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, IG Punjab, and RPO immediately provide medical treatment to the injured persons and take notice of the violation of the sanctity of their homes, chadars and four walls by people dressed in police and civilian clothes and conduct a complete inquiry and provide justice so that the demands of justice can be met.
