Protest Continues Outside Press Club, Deadlock Persists Between Government and Demonstrators

Islamabad (Hum Gawah)
The protest by families of missing persons outside the Press Club continues as the deadlock between the government and the demonstrators remains unresolved.

Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, said that the government is ready for dialogue, but the protesters are unwilling to engage in talks. He added that multiple attempts were made to reach out through human rights leaders and other channels, yet the demonstrators have not agreed to any negotiations.

According to Talal Chaudhry, the major hurdle in resolving the issue is the nature of the protesters’ demands, many of which the government cannot meet. He further noted that several matters are already under consideration in the courts, where the government cannot interfere.

The minister also emphasized that the Commission on Missing Persons is actively working on the issue, and the government remains committed to discussing the matter in a constructive manner.
