Punjab and Sindh set to select their Chief Ministers today.

Today, Punjab and Sindh provinces are choosing their new Chief Ministers. In Lahore, the Punjab Assembly session starts at 11:00 am. PML-N’s Maryam Nawaz Sharif and SIC’s Rana Aftab Ahmed are competing for Punjab CM, while in Sindh, PPP’s Murad Ali Shah is up against MQM-P’s Ali Khurshidi. PTI changed its Punjab candidate to Rana Aftab after police tried to arrest their previous nominee, Mian Aslam Iqbal.

In Sindh, PTI and Jamaat-i-Islami are boycotting. PML-N, having a good number of candidates, has an advantage in Punjab. They already won the speaker and deputy speaker elections in Punjab Assembly. Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan is the Speaker, and Malik Zaheer Ahmed Channer is the Deputy Speaker. PML-N’s majority makes it likely for Maryam Nawaz to become CM. These elections show the political dynamics in both provinces.

This election day is crucial for Punjab and Sindh, deciding their new leaders amidst political maneuvers and alliances.

PPP claims top Sindh Assembly spots.
