Dussen’s century wasted; Zalmi stops Qalandars’ win.
In the latest Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 match, Rassie van der Dussen’s century couldn’t save Lahore Qalandars from a narrow loss against Peshawar Zalmi. Despite van der Dussen’s brilliant performance, Qalandars fell just eight runs short of their first win.
Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, dominated Qalandars’ bowling attack, posting a huge total of 212 runs. Their openers, Babar Azam and Ayub, set the tone with a strong partnership of 136 runs. Although Ayub led the charge, Azam contributed with 48 runs off 36 balls before falling just short of his fifty.
Ayub continued his onslaught alongside Rovman Powell, maintaining the momentum for Zalmi. Despite Qalandars’ efforts, they couldn’t contain Zalmi’s batting onslaught. However, van der Dussen’s heroic century wasn’t enough to secure victory for Qalandars.
The match showcased an exciting contest between bat and ball, with Zalmi ultimately emerging victorious thanks to their formidable batting display and combined bowling effort. Qalandars, despite van der Dussen’s outstanding innings, couldn’t clinch their first win of the season.
