Gibran Ilyas has created a WhatsApp group.This group includes Ali Hasnain Malik, Barrister Gohar, Umar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Rauf Hassan and Salman Raza and other leaders.
Jibran Ilyas, PTI’s social media controller living abroad, started demanding answers from the party leaders. According to party sources, Gibran Ilyas has been given this authority by the PTI founder. Evidence of accountability from party leaders began to emerge from various sources.
On June 3, Gibran Ilyas sent instructions to FIA party leaders in a WhatsApp group regarding the investigation, saying, “If you have anything to ask about the investigation, you can ask here. I will gladly answer but don’t talk based on assumptions, like I don’t have any founder PTI account and social media is not operating from abroad, we have a good number across the country but this It is not a good suggestion to tell the whereabouts of the workers”.
Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar was investigated for 2 hours and Information Secretary Rauf Hassan for 4 hours regarding the controversial video in FIA’s cybercrime.
On June 5, 2024, PTI Chairman Gauhar Khan expressed disapproval of the controversial 1971 video released by the party’s social media account.
In his statement to the FIA, he disagreed with the idea of uploading the said video and confirmed that; “Jibran Ilyas and Azhar Mashwani run social media accounts abroad”
Gibran Ilyas shared with Barrister Gohar the screenshots taken by the TV channel on June 5 which clearly showed Barrister Gohar’s statement that Gibran Ilyas and Azhar Mashwani run social media accounts from abroad.
Barrister Gohar gave an explanation to Gibran Ilyas and said that; “Jabran I talked to you for about thirty minutes and explained everything and sent you screenshots”
When Gibran Ilyas sent the screenshot and sought an explanation from Barrister Gohar, Barrister Gohar said, “I am telling you, Jabran, that I did not name any of you as the handler of the post and in fact, I don’t know”
Barrister Gauhar said, “I told you that if they get my statement (in which I can name you) then you should ask me, also please never involve me in anything.” do”
Barrister Gohar gave further evidence and said; “Some sources say that I have taken your name and some say that Rauf has taken your name” Please understand this issue, I have called you. and spoke with you for 30 minutes to answer any questions you may have, please call back if you have any questions. “Do it.”
On this, Gibran Ilyas sent a message to Barrister Gohar that; “Then deny it openly”
On the screen shot shared by Gibran Ilyas to Barrister Gohar, Gibran Ilyas said: “By the way, the text is not mine, these Urdu words have been written and sent to me by someone, I have also forwarded them, I trust you, but You openly deny it.”
Barrister Gohar told Gibran Ilyas that; “I told you earlier that if anything happens from the FIA, I will refuse and when I came out I said that the matter is under hearing and the High Court directed us to appear. So I don’t want to go into the details of the answers to the questions.”
According to political analysts, this WhatsApp conversation also proves that PTI is fully involved in making the 1971 video viral. The mutual distraction between Gibran Ilyas and other leaders of the party is increasing.
