Modern Warfare 3 Season Maps New Battlefields

Following months of leaks and rumors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially announced last week. Most of the leaks turned out to be true. Sledgehammer Games is leading the development of this year’s entry, which is a direct sequel to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The campaign will bring back some familiar faces.

While the campaign is a highlight, the multiplayer mode is just as crucial. Modern Warfare 3 aims to satisfy fans in this department. Last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 introduced several controversial changes to multiplayer, including:

  • Removal of red dots on the minimap
  • Removal of slide canceling

Activision has listened to the feedback and is reverting these changes in Modern Warfare 3. The game will include a total of 16 6v6 maps at launch, offering players intense firefights and a nostalgic experience.

Modern Warfare 3 launched with 16 regular maps and several large-scale maps, all reworked from their original MW2 (2009) versions.
