iPhone become obsolete

Apple has announced

That several older iPhone models will be rendered obsolete, prompting users to consider upgrading to newer versions. Among these is the iPhone 6 Plus, released in 2014, marking a significant size increase compared to earlier models.

The list of obsolete devices

Includes various models ranging from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 6 Plus. Once classified as obsolete, these devices will no longer receive hardware or software support.

According to Apple’s guidelines,

Products become vintage if they were discontinued for sale between 5 to 7 years ago, and obsolete if discontinued for more than 7 years. While vintage products still receive some updates, obsolete ones cease to receive any support from Apple, including hardware servicing.

This move signals the end of an era for these older iPhones, urging users to consider upgrading to newer models to ensure continued support and access to the latest features and technology.
