Indefinite Ban on Prisoner Visits at Adiala Jail Cited for Security Reasons
The Punjab government has indefinitely extended the ban on prisoner meetings at Adiala Jail due to security concerns. This follows previous restrictions from October 4 to 18, which were briefly extended. While the ban is particularly noted for high-profile political prisoners like Imran Khan, it applies to all inmates.

Last week, Adiala Jail officials dismissed claims of mistreatment of Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated for over a year. They revealed details of the meals provided to him, countering allegations made by PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan regarding his prison conditions. According to jail authorities, Imran enjoys a B-Class facility with access to uninterrupted electricity, nutritious meals prepared by a professional cook, and regular exercise.
His meals reportedly include items like coffee, chapati, traditional curry, and fresh fruit. Authorities stated that he is examined three times daily by an in-house doctor and has been confirmed to be in good health by medical professionals. They emphasized that claims of isolation and mistreatment are baseless, asserting that Imran’s conditions meet all legal standards. The ban on visitor meetings remains in place until further notice.
