Don’t we like Allah to forgive us?

It is said in the Holy Qur’an, “Because of the mercy of Allah, you have a soft heart towards them, and if you had a bad tongue and a hard heart, all this would have escaped you, so forgive them and seek forgiveness for them.” Do it and advise them on what to do, then when you have a firm will, put your trust in Allah. Verily, Allah loves those who trust. (Quran 159:3)

Understanding and practicing the importance of forgiveness is the duty of all Muslims, Islam teaches tolerance, morality and forgiveness to others. Therefore, a forgiving person is the best Muslim. So if we take a look at the Holy Quran, the word of Allah which has clear sovereignty and many things are found to understand the true importance of forgiveness. If we want to truly appreciate the attribute of Allah’s mercy, then we have to include forgiveness in our personal lives as well. Mentioned below are five verses from the Holy Quran, by following which we can not only improve our lives but also truly appreciate the forgiving attribute of Allah.

  1. Forgive with open heart

And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them without wisdom, and the Hour is sure to come, but turn away from them with cheerfulness. (Quran 15:85)
In this verse we are reminded that our time in this world and on earth is limited. Therefore, we should understand the importance of forgiveness. If we want others to forgive us our mistakes and our sins, then we should also adopt the attitude of forgiving our friends, brothers and sisters in return.

  1. The reward of reconciliation

It is said in the Holy Qur’an, “And the reward of evil is like evil, so whoever forgives and makes peace, his reward is due to Allah, indeed, He does not like wrongdoers.” (Al-Qur’an 42:40)

In this verse, Allah Almighty is explaining to us that Allah Almighty will bless and forgive only those people who are capable of forgiveness. Although it is very difficult to do so at times, we should understand the importance of reconciliation and forgive people who are difficult for us to forgive. Because we have to do it not for ourselves but for Allah Ta’ala.

  1. Patience and forgiveness are commendable.

And indeed, the one who was patient and forgave, surely this is an act of great courage. (Qur’an 42:43)
In the Holy Quran, Allah reminds us that being patient and being able to forgive are two sides of the same coin. If we live in a truly united Ummah, we should strive for reconciliation every now and then and try to improve society through forgiveness and forgiveness.

  1. To forgive is to believe in Allah

Then because of the mercy of Allah, you became soft towards them, and if you were hot-tempered and hard-hearted, they would have run away from you, so forgive them and seek forgiveness for them and seek their advice in matters. Then, when you have made up your mind to do this, put your trust in Allah. Verily, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.  (Al-Quran 3:159)

In the eyes of Allah, to forgive with a sincere intention is actually to have faith in Allah. We should believe that Allah knows everything and remember that only Allah is the judge of our actions. Therefore, we should have complete faith that Allah will reward us with what we deserve.

  1. Don’t we like Allah to forgive us?

And let not those of you who are noble and wealthy swear that they will not give to their relatives and the poor and those who emigrated in the way of Allah, and should forgive them and seek forgiveness, do you not want Allah to forgive you? Do it, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.  (Al-Quran 24:22)

Just as we want Allah to forgive us and deal with us in mercy and kindness, we also want to practice mercy and forgiveness in our lives and this is the minimum standard of how much we should be with Allah. love
