27 dead, 38 injured in KP due to rains: PDMA
In the last 48 hours, heavy rains in KP resulted in the loss of at least 27 lives, with 38 people injured, as confirmed by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Damage assessment revealed 33 houses completely destroyed and 129 partially damaged. Responding to the crisis, the Chief Minister instructed immediate relief efforts, including providing compensation to affected families and ensuring the reopening of closed roads.
Furthermore, directives were issued to aid individuals stranded due to rains and landslides. The Chief Minister also urged PDMA, Rescue 1122, and district administrations to remain on high alert and facilitate affected people.
PDMA reported the successful rescue of six tourists in Malamjabba and issued instructions to District Commissioners (DCs) accordingly. Additionally, reports of livestock casualties were received from Rescue 1122 KP, further highlighting the extent of the impact caused by the inclement weather.
