An important meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Education was held today to address the long-standing issues faced by thousands of law students of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU). The session was chaired by senior legal expert and Senator Kamran Murtaza. Other notable participants included Senator Fauzia, representatives from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), BZU administration, and student representative Rao Jawad Khalil.

The committee thoroughly reviewed the legal and academic challenges faced by the students and emphasized that all matters must be resolved within the legal framework

Key Decisions Made by the Committee

The university has been directed to conduct supplementary examinations without delay.

Instructions were issued to ensure immediate commencement of regular classes.

For students whose issues remain pending between the Pakistan Bar Council, HEC, and the university, the committee recommended special relief

Prominent members of the media also attended the session. Editor Naveed Satti and Chief Editor Shahid Akhtar Awan from Daily Supreme were present and played an active role in highlighting students’ concerns

According to sources, prompt implementation of the committee’s recommendations is expected, which may bring significant relief to the affected BZU law students
