The evolution of animals was successful
A team of researchers in the UK has turned to robotics to unravel the evolutionary secrets of a long-extinct species.
The team, led by Dr Michael Ishida of the University of Cambridge, recently launched a program that aims to understand the evolution of millions of years by animating robotic models of extinct animals within a day.
“With a new 3D-printed leg and engineering, we can replicate millions of years of evolution in a single day,” said Dr. Michael Ishida.
The team focused on recreating the movements of fossilized fish ancestors, including a unique fish currently living on land.
