Saim Ayub goes past Haider Ali to achieve major T20 landmark

Saim Ayub, the young left-handed opener, made history in T20 cricket by becoming the youngest Pakistani to hit 100 sixes at just 21 years and 297 days old. Playing for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, Saim had an outstanding season both with the bat and the ball. He scored 345 runs in 11 innings, with a remarkable strike rate of 157.53. In a crucial match against Peshawar Zalmi, he smashed 73 runs, including four sixes, ending his dream campaign on a high note.

By achieving this milestone, Saim surpassed Haider Ali, who previously held the record at 22 years and 259 days. Impressively, Saim has hit the most sixes in PSL 9, totaling 21 in just 11 innings.

Despite his remarkable performance, Saim’s efforts couldn’t secure a win for Peshawar Zalmi, as Islamabad United emerged victorious in the Eliminator 2. However, Saim’s achievement adds another feather to his cap in the world of cricket.
