Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Attends UN General Assembly to Address Key Global Issues

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in New York to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) during his five-day official visit to the U.S. He is scheduled to address the UNGA on Friday, focusing on issues like the Kashmir dispute and the situation in Palestine. The Prime Minister will reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism and support for the UN’s role in global peace and security.

During the visit, he will attend several high-level meetings, including discussions on sea level rise and the UN Security Council’s debate on leadership for peace. Shehbaz will also hold bilateral meetings with world leaders and meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as World Bank President Ajay Banga and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. The visit will conclude on September 27, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and senior officials.
