Pakistan calls for immediate end to war

In the United Nations General Assembly, Pakistan strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ actions in Gaza, labeling them as “war crimes and crimes against humanity” and even suggesting they could be considered a “veritable genocide.” The Pakistani Ambassador, Munir Akram, expressed deep concern about the human tragedy unfolding in Gaza, where thousands of Palestinians, including many children, have lost their lives or been wounded due to the ongoing Israeli campaign of bombardment and air strikes.

The ambassador also mentioned the destruction of essential lifelines and the displacement of over a million people. He called for a humanitarian truce and urged UN members to support a resolution to that effect, rejecting a Canadian amendment that condemned attacks by Hamas in Israel. The ambassador also called for accountability for the crimes committed and the prevention of such tragedies in the future.
