JUI-F has opted to reject the outcomes of the 2024 elections and has chosen to occupy the opposition benches instead.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of JUI-F, declared during a press briefing that his party would assume the role of opposition in parliament. He extended an invitation to Nawaz Sharif, stating, “I also urge Nawaz Sharif to join us.” Rehman reiterated that his party dismissed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s assertion that the elections were conducted transparently.

“Those who perceive the elections as fair should unite to establish the government,” he remarked, highlighting widespread rigging during the general elections.

The day prior, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif visited Fazlur Rehman at his Islamabad residence, extending an invitation to join forces in forming a coalition government at the Centre.

During their meeting, the JUI-F chief purportedly addressed concerns regarding the alleged rigging in the February 8 elections, emphasizing that his party’s mandate had been compromised.

Fazlur Rehman had conveyed to Shehbaz Sharif that he would present the proposal to the Majlis-e-Aamila of his party and subsequently inform him of the decision.
