Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman called the increase “shameful” and criticized the government for failing to provide relief to citizens and businesses, especially as international oil prices fall.
Higher fuel prices, particularly for petrol used in personal vehicles and public transport, heavily impact middle and lower income families. Increases in diesel prices also drive up the costs of transporting essential goods, directly affecting food prices and everyday living expenses.
