Tragic Blast in Balochistan Claims Seven Lives

A blast in Mastung, Balochistan, killed seven people, including five schoolchildren, one police officer, and a passer-by. The explosion, reportedly aimed at a police vehicle near a girls’ school, was caused by a remote-controlled bomb planted in a motorcycle. Initially, five fatalities were reported, but two injured victims later died in the hospital, raising the death toll to seven. Most of the 30 injured are schoolchildren, with four police officers among them.

Emergency declarations were made at hospitals in Mastung and nearby Quetta to treat the injured, with nine patients in critical condition transferred to a trauma center. Local officials condemned the attack, expressing sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, called for community vigilance against terrorism, while the acting president condemned the violence against civilians.
