Every day 400 people die due to stroke

Medical experts revealed that 1,000 people are suffering from stroke every day in Pakistan while 400 people are dying due to this disease every day.

Experts requested the government to provide free medicines to blood pressure, diabetes and stroke patients and to increase stroke treatment centers.

The experts expressed these views in a press conference organized by the Neurology Awareness and Research Foundation at the Karachi Press Club, in which renowned neurologist Dr. Muhammad Wasee, hematologist Dr. Saqib Ansari and Chairman Gulshan Town Dr. Fawad participated.

Dr. Muhammad Wasay expressed concern and said that the disease of stroke has increased to an alarming level in Pakistan, about 1,000 people suffer from stroke every day, while 400 people die due to stroke every day.

He said that one-third of the country’s population is suffering from high blood pressure, while 14 percent of people smoke and 16 percent use gutgae. The use of e-cigarettes is also increasing while the air pollution index in Karachi is between 200 and 250 which is dangerous.
