FIR Not Registered Despite Four Applications, Victim Turns to RTS Office After Police Inaction
Haripur (Hum Gawah) A local citizen in Haripur has come forward with serious allegations against the police, claiming that despite submitting four written applications to the police station, no FIR (First Information Report) was registered. Instead of taking action, the police allegedly forced the complainant to sign blank papers while sitting inside the station.
The affected citizen stated that he also approached the District Police Officer (DPO) to highlight the misconduct, but no action was taken against the involved police personnel. Frustrated by the lack of justice, the individual has now approached the Right to Services (RTS) Office for legal protection.According to the complainant, the police misused their authority and violated his legal rights, and he demands a full inquiry into the matter and strict action against those responsible.
It is important to note that the Right to Services Act (RTS) is a landmark law introduced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to ensure timely and transparent delivery of public services. Under this law, every citizen has the legal right to receive specific government services within a stipulated time frame, and officials can be held accountable for delays or negligence.
The citizen has urged the authorities to take immediate notice of the police’s misconduct and to ensure justice through the RTS legal framework۔
